the country for their livelihood & subsistence.

early days of British Empire and later on it took the

Bihar: Students protest against MNS attack

There is anger on the streets of Bihar over the
attacks on north Indians in by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena
(MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's supporters. Acting on a
one-day bandh called by various students unions of the
state, hundreds of students ransacked a railway station
near Patna and tried to vandalise a university. They
clashed with the police and some of them were taken into
custody.

Political violence in Mumbai spreads

The head of a right-wing political party has been
arrested after a series of attacks on migrant workers,
sparking violent protests in Mumbai.
Raj Thackeray, who heads the small but vocal Maharashtra
Navnirman Sena (MNS), was arrested on charges of rioting.
Police in Mumbai fired tear gas shells and beat
protesters with batons after his arrest. Thackeray is the
nephew of Hindu nationalist leader Bal Thackeray, who
founded the Shiv Sena party. He deserted Shiv Sena in
2005 to form the more militant MNS.

Arrest of political leader sparks protests in Mumbai

Mumbai/ New Delhi, October 21 (ANI): Raj Thackeray,
who heads the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS, was
arrested earlier in Ratnagiri on Tuesday and brought to
Mumbai. The arrest has sparked violent protests in and
around Mumbai. MNS supporters attacked north Indian
railway job aspirants in the city on Sunday. Chief of
Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh said that all measures were
being taken to keep the situation under control.

worked. A day after their activists attacked North Indian
candidates who arrived in the city to appear for the
railway recruitment board exams, most candidates MiD DAY
spoke to are willing to return to the city if recruited.
Most of the candidates came to the city only to appear
for the exam and had been camping at railway platforms.

Jet Airways Crewmembers Meeting

support, 70 per cent cabin crew members who were laid-off
by Jet Airways were present at around 11.30 am in front
of the Jet Airways office at S M centre, Marol, Andheri
(E). MNS representatives including Nitin Sardesai,

Maharastra Navnirman Kamgar Sena; Atul Satpodar and
