The James M. DuPont Meteorite Collection - only
ionization energy loss, and the secondary energy
spectra at different depths within a grain were
obtained following the approach of Lal [9] to
calculate production rates of the nuclides at different
depths within grains of different radius. A power law
size distribution [dN/dr = const.r-k] has been assumed
for the grains. The initial results obtained from our
studies indicate that the fluence of solar energetic
particles needed for explaining the initial (26Al/27Al)
value of 5 x 10-5 measured in CAIs is much too high

and petrographic type -unequilibrated ordinary and
carbonaceous chondrites - should allow us to compare
CSSE results with data obtained by conventional
pyrolysis experiments [e.g., 7-10]. The goal of this
work is to study the dependence of the abundance and
the isotopic composition of "Q" on the history of the
meteorites and thereby to determine a possible common
noble gas reservoir present in the early solar system
during the formation of the meteorite parent bodies.

a suitable element for s-process studies since ZrO is
a predominant feature in the S stars [1] and 90Zr is
neutron magic. Out of five stable isotopes, only 96Zr
