EXCLUSIVE: Ursula von Rydingsvards sculpture "Weeping
Plates" (2005) at her studio in Brooklyn, New York.
Ursula von Rydingsvard builds towering cedar structures,
creating an intricate network of individual beams and
sensuous, puzzle-like surfaces. While abstract at its
core, Von Rydingsvards work takes visual cues from the
landscape, the human body, and utilitarian objects ? such
as the artists collection of household vessels ? and
demonstrates an interest in the point where the man-made
meets nature.

artist has been transforming into a celestial observatory
for the past thirty years. Working with cosmological

Richard Tuttle commonly refers to his work as drawing
rather than sculpture, emphasizing the diminutive scale
and idea-based nature of his practice. He subverts the
conventions of modernist sculptural practice and instead
creates small, eccentrically playful objects in decidedly
humble materials such as paper, rope, twigs, and bubble
wrap. Tuttle also manipulates the space in which his
objects exist, forcing viewers to reconsider and
renegotiate the white-cube gallery space in relation to
their own bodies.
