ABBA - Knowing Me, Knowing You Descrição do Vídeo: "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is a hit single recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA. The song was written by Stig Anderson, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with the lead vocal sung by Anni-Frid Lyngstad. During recording sessions it had the working titles of "Ring It In" and "Number One, Number One". "Knowing Me, Knowing You" features on the group's album Arrival, and the ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits compilation. The song has remained popular in the years since it was released, and became the catchphrase of Alan Partridge, Steve Coogan's comic creation from the show of the same name. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is also featured in the Mamma Mia! musical. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" was recorded in 1976 at the Metronome studio in Stockholm, and released in February 1977, becoming one of the group's most successful singles. The B-side was "Happy Hawaii," an arrangement of another ABBA song, "Why Did It Have to Be Me", but with a different lead vocalist and lyrics. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" was one of the first ABBA songs to deal with the breakup of a relationship, though with an upbeat quality to the music. It predates the divorces of the ABBA members, as well as further breakup songs to come: "The Winner Takes It All", "One of Us" and "When All Is Said And Done". Group member Benny Andersson named "Knowing Me, Knowing You" as one of ABBA's best recordings in a 2004 interview, along with "Dancing Queen", "The Winner Takes It All" and "When I Kissed the Teacher". "Knowing Me, Knowing You" was yet another smash hit on the charts worldwide, hitting No.1 in the UK, Ireland, West Germany, South Africa and Mexico, and reaching the Top 3 in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and the Netherlands. It was also a Top 10 hit in Norway, New Zealand, Australia and France. In the United States, "Knowing Me, Knowing You" became ABBA's sixth Top 20 single, peaking at No.14. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" was also the first in the second in a series of chart-topping singles for ABBA in Britain (continuing with "The Name of the Game" and "Take a Chance on Me"), coming after the group scored three number-ones in the UK in 1976. ABBA - Dancing Queen Descrição do Vídeo: "Dancing Queen" is the biggest hit single recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA, and as such is considered by many to be their signature song. It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson, recorded in 1975 for the group's album Arrival, and released as a single the following year with "That's Me" as the B-side. It reached the No.1 position on the popular music charts in approximately 13 countries. "Dancing Queen" features the shared lead vocal performance by Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Its opening keyboard glissando and hummed vocals are one of the most identifiable sections in pop music history. "Dancing Queen" appears to have a relatively straight-forward lyric/storyline; it's about a 17-year-old girl having a good time on a Friday night. Not fazed by the social pressures in her daily life as a teenager, all she wants to do is go out and look for a 'king' to dance with. Upon further listening the lyrics seem to suggest that all of us can become the Dancing Queen if we let ourselves go and enjoy life. This message is part of what gives the song its appeal to such a diverse audience. "Dancing Queen" is the 33rd most successful song in music history. "Dancing Queen" recording sessions began August 4, 1975; the demo was called 'Boogaloo', and as the sessions progressed, Andersson and Ulvaeus found inspiration to the dance rhythm in George McCrae's disco classic "Rock Your Baby", as well as the drumming on Dr. John's 1972 album Gumbo. Fältskog and Lyngstad recorded the vocals on sessions in September, and the track was completed three months later. During the sessions, Benny Andersson brought a tape home with the backing track on it and played it to his fiance, singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who apparently started crying when listening. "I found the song so beautiful". While working on the lyrics, part of the verse was scrapped: "Baby, baby, you're out of sight/hey, you're looking alright tonight/when you come to the party/listen to the guys/they've got the look in their eyes...". "Dancing Queen" spent six weeks at No.1 in the UK from September 1976, and became ABBA's only chart-topper in the United States in April 1977. It also hit No.1 in at least twelve other countries worldwide: ABBA's native Sweden (where it spent 14 weeks at the top), Norway, Ireland, West Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia), South Africa, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. "Dancing Queen" also reached the Top 5 in Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Austria and France. The track did not prove a mega-hit in Italy, however, peaking at No.14. As ABBA never achieved the same sort of popularity in Italy as elsewhere, this may explain the song's low chart position. In 1992, the song was re-released in the UK, as Erasure sparked an ABBA revival after the success of their "Abba-esque" EP topping the UK charts. The re-issued "Dancing Queen" reached No.16 in the UK in September 1992. Anni-Frid Lyngstad performed this song to commemorate the 50th birthday of Queen Silvia. The performance used an a cappella arrangement by The Real Group, which sang back-up for the performance. The arrangement was later released on the group's album "Varför får man inte bara vara som man är". In 2000, "Dancing Queen" came fourth in a Channel 4 television poll of "The 100 Best Number Ones" in 2001. It was chosen as number 148 as part of the 365 Songs of the Century list. It was also was ranked #171 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, the only ABBA song on the list. On November 9th 2002, the results of a poll, "Top 50 Favourite UK Number Ones", was broadcasted on Radio 2, celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Official UK Charts Company. 188,357 listeners voted and "Dancing Queen" came out at number eight. In 2008 readers of the Australian LGBT website SameSame voted "Dancing Queen" "The Gayest Song of All Time". U.S. presidential candidate John McCain named "Dancing Queen" as his favorite song in a top 10 list submitted to Blender Magazine in August 2008. "Es ist zwei Uhr nachts. Verbraucht, kaputt und ohne Illusionen sitzt die dreizehnjährige Maribelle mit ihren Blumen an der Straße. Aber wenn ein Mann, ein Freier, sie anspricht, dann wird sie lächeln." Das war der letzte Satz der Reportage von damals. Was mag aus den Kindern geworden sein? Nun, nach fünf Jahren, kommen wir zurück. Wir wollen ihre Geschichte in einem neuen Film weiterschreiben. Doch wie findet man Straßenkinder wieder, nach so langer Zeit, im Chaos einer asiatischen Großstadt? Wir klappern alle Plätze und Orte ab, an denen sich die Kinder damals aufgehalten haben. Wir ziehen durch die Slums und die Parks, in denen sie zeitweise wohnten. Das Armenviertel, in dem Len-Len, die Zuhälterin, damals lebte, gibt es nicht mehr. Statt dessen klafft dort eine gewaltige Baugrube mit den Fundamenten für einen Hotelkomplex. Wir suchen nachts den Strich ab - überall hinterlassen wir Nachrichten und unsere Adresse. Nach einer Woche gibt es immer noch keinen Rückläufer. Unsere Hoffnung, die Kinder wiederzufinden, schwindet langsam. Dann, plötzlich, steht Evelyn in der Tür. Sie ist groß geworden, hübsch war sie schon damals. Aber alles Kindliche ist aus ihrem Gesicht verschwunden. Die Züge um ihren Mund sind viel zu hart für eine Sechzehnjährige. Evelyn holt eine Zigarette aus ihrer Tasche, zündet sie lässig an, pafft cool durch die Nase . und erzählt. Nach zwei Stunden und einer Schachtel Philipp Morris, die Evelyn hektisch raucht, wird klar: Evelyn selbst geht nicht mehr auf den Strich. Sie ist Zuhälterin geworden und "betreut" jetzt zwei fünfzehnjährige Mädchen. Mit dieser "Arbeit" ernähre sie ihre ganze Familie, erzählt sie, ihre Mutter und ihre fünf jüngeren Geschwister. Sie ist stolz darauf. Auch Rosmary finden wir wieder. Sie lebt in einer Kiste, in einem Park, im Zentrum Manilas. Die Kiste riecht wie eine Tube Klebstoff. Schon damals hing Rosmary "an der Tüte", sie zog sich Lösungsmittel ins Hirn. Die Drogen haben sie gezeichnet. Man sieht es Rosmary an - sieben Jahre ihres Lebens hat die Sechzehnjährige auf der Straße verbracht. Sie lebt in einer Gruppe von Straßenkindern, die sie ihre "Familie" nennt. Gelegentlich ein Job, ein Deal, oder ein Freier - so halten sie sich über Wasser. Alles, was sie verdienen, teilen sie miteinander. Rosemary geht immer noch auf den Strich. Im Gegensatz zu früher sind ihre Freier heute einheimische Männer. Für die Ausländer ist sie mittlerweile zu alt und zu ungepflegt. Seit zwei Tagen weiß sie, dass sie Syphilis hat. Der Doktor hat verlangt, dass sie aufhört, als Prostituierte zu arbeiten. Aber wovon soll sie dann leben? Der Doktor hat ihr auch eingeschärft, dass sie morgen wiederkommen muss, damit die Behandlung fortgesetzt werden kann. Doch zwischen heute und morgen liegt die Nacht. ...
